The EL-DE-Haus, named after its builder Leopold Dahmen, served as the Gestapo headquarters and prison from 1935 to 1945. Situated in Cologne's Altstadt-Nord, it is now an architectural heritage monument in North Rhine-Westphalia and has housed the NS Documentation Center since 1988.
