The memorial for gay and lesbian victims of National Socialism in Cologne has stood since June 24, 1995, by the Rhine near the Hohenzollern Bridge. Crafted from interlocking triangles of polished pink and gray granite, it was donated by the Public Services, Transport and Traffic Union. Standing 70 cm tall, it commemorates the persecution of homosexuals during the Nazi era.
