Guided Story

Look up at those horse heads peeking out from the Richmodis Tower window. Curious why they're there? There's a story behind them. Legend has it, Richmodis von Aducht was mistakenly thought dead and buried. When she came back to life, her overjoyed husband rode horses up to their house. The horses got stuck up there, and that's what you see now. It's a testament to how legend and reality intertwine here in Cologne. If you turn west, you'll spot the Kreissparkasse and the Käthe Kollwitz Museum nearby. They add another layer to the rich tapestry of history this city offers.
