The Königshaus, a cultural monument dating back to 1560, is located on the south side of Leipzig's market square. Originally remodeled in baroque style by Johann Gregor Fuchs in 1706/07, it commemorates Augustus the Strong, who lodged here during his visits to Leipzig. In 1904, the building was converted into a commercial house and received its current name.
