Guided Story
Can you hear the gentle flow of the river beneath you? That's the White Elster, quietly running under the Plagwitzer Bridge. If you look to your east, you'll find the Karl Heine Monument not too far away. He was a visionary who played a huge role in the industrial boom of this area. Imagine the first horse-drawn carriages and later streetcars crossing this bridge over 150 years ago. Behind you, a little farther, stands the New Apostolic Church Leipzig-Plagwitz, whose bells sometimes echo this far. Feel the link between past and present as you walk over the old cobblestones?
