Founded in 1253, the Alter Hof served as the first residence of the Wittelsbach dukes in Munich. The complex features the late Gothic Burgstock from the 15th century and the 14th-century Zwingerstock, both with restored mural paintings. An archway links it to the Alte Münze, formerly the ducal art chamber.
