Maßmannpark
Discover Munich's Green Riverside Gem
Did you know?
The Maßmannbergl in Maßmannpark is the northernmost point within Munich's city limits where the western high bank of the Isar Valley can be seen.
Guided Story
Feel that gentle breeze sweeping over you? You're standing on a piece of Munich's history. Look over at the small hill, the Maßmannbergl — once part of the ancient shore of the Isar River. Imagine the river flowing where you now stand. Just southeast, you'll notice a statue of Hans Ferdinand Maßmann, a pioneer in physical education in the 19th century. Take a moment on one of the benches and listen to the rustling leaves above you. In spring, the trees burst into vibrant greens, a real treat for the senses. You might even catch the cheerful songs of birds that adore this place just as much as the visitors do.
