Designed by Friedrich von Gärtner, the Gärtnerplatz State Theatre opened its doors in 1865 as a popular theater. Now one of Bavaria's five state theaters, it blends classical architecture with modern restoration. Operated by the Wittelsbacher Compensation Fund, this architectural heritage was reopened in 2017 after extensive renovations.
