Gasometer Oberhausen
Founded in 1929, the Gasometer Oberhausen is a striking industrial monument located in Oberhausen's New Center. As the tallest exhibition and event hall in Europe, it is part of the Route of Industrial Heritage and the European Route of Industrial Heritage. This architectural heritage in North Rhine-Westphalia stands right by the Rhine-Herne Canal.
Burg Vondern
Built in 1266, Vondern Castle is Oberhausen's oldest monument. Owned by the city and maintained by the Förderkreis Burg Vondern e. V., it tells the story of the Counts and Dukes of Cleves. It has been a protected monument since 1987.
