Guided Story
Can you hear the gentle crash of the waves and the seagulls calling above? Standing here at the Fischerbastion, you can almost feel the history mingling with the salty sea air. Look to your left, and you’ll spot the silhouette of the Hermann Duncker monument. It’s a nod to Rostock’s rich history of the labor movement. Now, turn to your right. In the distance, you’ll see the Stephan Jantzen Museum, named after the famous sea pilot commander. As the sun sets, the sky transforms into a canvas of oranges and pinks, perfectly reflected in the water. It's a moment to pause and soak in the stories of this place. Did you know that fishermen used to moor their boats right against the city walls here? It's a sight that brings the past to life.
