You're standing in a place that was once a vibrant Botanical Garden. Founded in 1952, this garden was part of Saarland University. Look around, and you might still sense the echoes of its former botanical variety. It was located at the western edge of the university campus, with the university itself about 382 meters to the northeast. To the southwest, about 652 meters from here, lies the Saarbrücken Wildlife Park. The Schwarzenbergturm, a lookout point, is also nearby, roughly 816 meters to the south. Although the Botanical Garden closed in 2016, this spot remains a testament to the university's botanical heritage and history.
