An oval white plaque on the wall marks the Palais Madame de Freytal, constructed between 1763 and 1766 by Prince Wilhelm Heinrich of Nassau-Saarbrücken. The building was a residence for his mistress Katharina Magdalena Unverzagt and was known as the 'First House on the Square'.
