Burg Gebhardshagen

Burg Gebhardshagen in Salzgitter-Gebhardshagen is one of the oldest moated castles in the Braunschweig region, first mentioned in records in 1186. After several destructions, most recently during the Thirty Years' War, it was repeatedly rebuilt and served as a ducal court and administrative seat in the 16th century. From the mid-17th century until 1986, it functioned as an agricultural domain.
