Balkhauser Kotten is one of the best-preserved grinding mills by the Wupper River in Solingen. Named after the nearby Balkhausen hamlet, it holds the status of an architectural heritage monument in North Rhine-Westphalia. The grinding museum, usually open and free from Tuesday to Sunday, has been closed since the 2021 flood.
