The Alte Burse, a notable cultural heritage site in Germany, is located in the southern part of Tübingen's old town, elevated above the Neckar River. Constructed between 1478 and 1482, its creation is credited to Mechthild of the Palatinate, the mother of Eberhard the Bearded. The entrance features carvings of the palm and the motto 'Attempto', which are also part of the University of Tübingen's emblem.
