As you stand by the water, you’ll notice the serene calmness surrounding you. This natural monument, Alter Teich, spans 5 hectares and has been a protected area since 1978, safeguarding numerous plant and animal species. Originally, this pond was a clay pit for a brickyard, preserved from becoming a landfill. The banks provide a haven for various bird species and other wildlife that thrive here undisturbed. Looking southeast, about 900 meters away, you'll find the MTV-Center Vorsfelde, a spot for sports and leisure. Situated at the edge of the Teichbreite, Tiergartenbreite, and Vorsfelde districts, the pond remains a tranquil retreat focused on nature.
