Guided Story

Can you hear the soft rustle of leaves? That's the sound of Würzburg's Hauptfriedhof, a place of peace and reflection. Look up to see the Monopteros, a pavilion that stands like a silent guardian over the graves. Time seems to stand still here. In spring, the air is filled with the delicate scent of blooming trees, while in autumn, leaves carpet the ground in a golden hue. To your left is the mass grave of the bombing victims from March 16, 1945, a poignant reminder of the site's history. You might also spot the monument of Else Braunschweiger. Each stone here tells its own story.
