As you stand in Würzburg Hauptbahnhof, you're at one of Bavaria's most significant transport hubs. Opening in 1854, this station was designed by Hans Kern and sits strategically to the north of the city center. It replaced the earlier Ludwigsbahnhof, which couldn't handle the increasing railway traffic of the time. Here, several major rail routes intersect, making it a crucial junction for both local and long-distance travel. If you look around, you might notice the Ringlokschuppen I, a listed building 153 meters to the northeast. To the south, about 213 meters away, you'll find the Kiliansbrunnen, another notable landmark of the city.
