The Obergurtknoten commemorates Wuppertal's historic suspension railway structure. Erected in 2004 by the Nordstädter Bürgerverein Barmen, the steel monument is located opposite the former employment office on Hünefeldstraße. It was donated by the Historical Suspension Railway Association of Wuppertal.
