Guided Story
Do you hear the sound of the water beneath you? You're actually standing on an island in the middle of the Regnitz. Look up and marvel at the baroque façade. But here's something you might not know: this town hall was the result of a fierce dispute between the citizens and the bishop. The townsfolk wanted their own town hall, but the prince-bishop was against it being in 'his' city. So, they built it right here on an island in the river, beyond his direct control. Clever, right? Behind you, towards the Hl. Kunigunde Monument, you can cross the river and explore the other side of the old town. This area is full of tales of power, art, and community. Take in the view and let the history enchant you.
