Guided Story

Look up. See that golden figure on top? That's Victoria, affectionately known by Berliners as 'Goldelse'. She's been keeping watch over the city for more than a century. But did you know she wasn't always here? In 1938, she was moved from her original spot at Königsplatz to this location. Turn around and you might spot the statues of Bismarck, Roon, and Moltke. They too were relocated here with the column. Imagine how these monuments once dominated the old square and now have found a new home here in the Tiergarten.
