Designed by architect Gertrud Schille, the Zeiss Major Planetarium opened in 1987 and is recognized as one of Europe's most advanced science theaters. Located in the Ernst-Thälmann-Park, it is part of the Berlin Planetarium Foundation. Constructed for Berlin's 750th anniversary, it stands as one of the last representative buildings of the former East Germany.
