Erected in 1902, the Alice Memorial, also known as the Alice Obelisk, commemorates Grand Duchess Alice. Located north of the main church St. Ludwig in Darmstadt, it was designed by Ludwig Habich and Adolf Zeller. The monument is recognized as a cultural heritage site in Hesse and is a fine example of Art Nouveau architecture.
