Gedenkstein für die Deportation von Sinti und Roma

The Memorial Stone for the Deportation of Sinti and Roma in Dortmund was established in 1998. It commemorates the deportation of Sinti and Roma from Dortmund and the surrounding areas to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp on March 9, 1943. This sandstone monument stands as a silent witness to history, marking the former site of the East Station where the transport began. Standing 2.2 meters tall, it serves as a poignant reminder of the past.
