Founded in 1924, the Zwingerbauhütte was established to protect Dresden's sandstone Zwinger from deterioration. Under the guidance of Hubert Georg Ermisch, its initial restoration phase lasted until 1936. Reestablished in 1991 after post-war reconstruction efforts, it continues its preservation mission.
