Guided Story

Imagine standing where guards once protected the city nearly 600 years ago. Look up, can you see those small windows? That's where the watchmen had their lookout over the city walls. Behind you, towards the Eschenheimer Anlage, there used to be a wide moat to keep invaders at bay. If you listen carefully, you might just hear the echoes of the old city in the hustle and bustle of modern Frankfurt. Did you know the tower had one of the first lightning rods in Frankfurt? It was quite the innovation back in the day. As you walk on, keep an eye out for the Palais Thurn und Taxis to the south, another piece of history bringing the city to life.
