The Goethe Monument on Frankfurt's Goetheplatz is an over-life-size bronze statue of poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, crafted by Ludwig Michael Schwanthaler. Since its ceremonial unveiling on October 22, 1844, the statue stands on a cubic pedestal adorned with allegorical reliefs and epic scenes. It is the first public monument in Frankfurt dedicated to Goethe.
