Guided Story
Imagine standing in a place that has been whispering stories for nearly 300 years. Can you hear the soft rustle of leaves above? These are the same sounds that accompanied students when this garden was known as 'Hortus medicus'. Look over there, past the trees – do you see the German Theatre? This land was once a hub for medical students to learn about the healing properties of plants. Today, you can find everything from exotic species to local herbs right here. And did you know this garden was a true pioneer? As far back as the 18th century, it was collecting plants from across the globe, long before globalization was even a concept.
