The Jahndenkmal in Cologne-Müngersdorf was unveiled on July 21, 1928, to mark the 150th birthday of Friedrich Ludwig Jahn. The unveiling ceremony was part of the German Gymnastics Festival and was attended by a great-grandson of Jahn from Chicago, alongside Oskar Berger, chairman of the German Gymnastics Association. It is one of approximately 330 monuments dedicated to 'Turnvater' Jahn in Germany.
