Built starting in 1388, the Konzilgebäude in Konstanz served for centuries as a warehouse and trading hub at the harbor. It is the largest preserved medieval secular building in Southern Germany and hosted the conclave electing Pope Martin V in 1417. Since 1912, it has been used as a restaurant, banquet hall, and conference center.
