St. Jakobus Kirche

As you stand here, take a moment to admire the impressive façade of St. Jakobus Church. Notice the neo-baroque elements that define its distinct character. Built between 1904 and 1907, this church is a significant cultural heritage monument, crafted according to Ludwig Maier's plans with contributions from Anton Ohnmacht. It incorporates parts of an earlier structure from 1760. After suffering wartime damage, its roof was rebuilt in a simplified form in the 1950s, which you can see now. If you look slightly to your left, you'll spot the Rathaus Neckarau just 67 meters to the northeast. A glance northwest reveals the Matthäuskirche, about 127 meters away. This church stands as a testament to the rich history and faith in Mannheim.
