Once the summer residence of the Wittelsbach electors and kings, Nymphenburg Palace was constructed in the Baroque style by architects Agostino Barelli, Enrico Zuccalli, and Giovanni Antonio Viscardi starting in 1664. It forms an impressive architectural ensemble with its expansive parks and canals in Munich's Neuhausen-Nymphenburg district. Today, it is managed by the Bavarian Administration of State Palaces, Gardens and Lakes.
