Founded in 1924, the Oberföhring Weir controls the flow of the Isar River and serves as the entry point for the Mittlere-Isar Canal. While it doesn't generate power itself, a small power plant below the weir redirects water back to the Isar. The facility is operated by Uniper Kraftwerke GmbH.
