Guided Story
Imagine standing in a room that once housed one of Nuremberg's most infamous figures. The executioner himself lived right above you. Look up and envision the heavy footsteps that echoed across the wooden floors. Behind you, over the river, is the Henkersteg. This bridge was the path the executioner took to his grim duties—a daily walk between life and death. Here in the Executioner's House, you don't just see the tools; you feel the oppressive air of a life lived on society's fringes. Did you know the executioner was often shunned by the townspeople, feared as if he carried a curse? Yet his skills were indispensable, securing him a unique, albeit isolated, place in the community.
