Schultheis-Weiher

Standing here, you can feel the serene atmosphere of the Schultheisweiher. Originally excavated in 1928 by the Schultheis company as a gravel pit, this area spans an impressive 10.4 hectares. The lake, with a maximum depth of 3.11 meters, serves as a quiet testament to the industrial history of the region. As you look around, you might notice the traces of transformation that began in the late 1970s when this site was turned into a recreational area. Just 50 meters to the northeast, you’ll find the Rumpenheim and Bürgel gravel pits, highlighting the area’s industrial past. Here at the pond, you can witness the blend of Offenbach’s past and present.
