Step into Trier's Rich Historical Tapestry
Did you know?
The Stolpersteine in Trier, laid by Gunter Demnig, serve as poignant reminders of the Nazi regime's victims who took their last steps from this city.
Guided Story
Can you feel the whispers of history around you? Look down at the small brass plaques set into the pavement. These are Stolpersteine, or stumbling stones, and they tell the stories of those who once lived here in Trier before being caught up in the horrors of the Nazi regime. Artist Gunter Demnig started this project to ensure these victims are never forgotten. Each stone bears a name, a destiny, meant to be remembered. To your left, you'll find the Tufa, a vibrant hub of creativity, standing in stark contrast to the silent memory these stones evoke. These monuments are more than just remembrances; they're a call to never forget the past and to remain vigilant in the present.
