The Goethe-Hafis Memorial in Weimar honors the German poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and the 14th-century Persian poet Hafis. It was inaugurated in 2000 during the International Year of the Dialogue of Cultures at Beethovenplatz. The sculpture, a gift from UNESCO to the Klassikstiftung Weimar, was created by artists Ernst Thevis and Fabian Rabsch.
