The Helenenturm, a 30-meter high observation tower in Witten, was built in 1858 by Justice Eduard Strohn in honor of his wife Helene. The construction was funded by compensations from a lawsuit against the Prussian state. Due to renovation needs, the tower is accessible only on special occasions.
