You're standing in the Lützeler Volkspark, created from 1932 on the remnants of the former Bubenheimer Flesche fortress. This fortress was dismantled after World War I, paving the way for this green haven in the Lützel district. Look around: the park is bordered by Am Volkspark, Bodelschwinghstraße, Am Petersberg, and Andernacher Straße. If you glance east, about 200 meters away, you'll find the Franzosenfriedhof. This historic setting invites you to pause and sense the blend of past and present.
