You are standing before the Große Fontäne, a fountain built between 1760 and 1775. Notice how its water jet ascends to about 8 meters high. This striking feature is powered by an ingenious irrigation system fed by the Possenbach stream through the Schirmteich. To your right, you’ll find the Kleine Grotte, adding its unique charm to the scene. Although not visible, the Schirmteich provides the necessary water pressure as the first overflow stage for the fountain. If you stroll eastward, you'll reach the Rosenberceau fountain, just 166 meters away.
