How does the creation wizard work?

The creation wizard

When you create a new ID, the creation wizard guides you through all required and optional fields in a structured way.

Two-column layout

The creation page has a two-column layout: the form with input fields on the left, and a sidebar on the right showing your progress and useful tips.

Required and optional fields

Required fields are marked with an asterisk. The sidebar shows you which sections still need to be filled in. You can always add optional fields later.

Type-specific fields

Different fields appear depending on the chosen ID type. An item has serial number and purchase date, a pet has breed and color, a trail has start location and waypoints.

Saving

Once you've filled in all required fields, the save button becomes active. After saving, you'll be redirected to your new ID's detail page.
