How do I join a Community Network?

Joining a Community Network

Joining a community is quick and only takes a few taps.

Step by Step

1. Browse communities: Go to the Community Networks section and use the Discover page to find communities near you. Use the "Find nearby" button to sort communities by distance
2. Or scan a QR code: Many communities have physical QR codes on community boards, in cafés, or at local businesses. Scanning one takes you straight to the community page
3. Choose a community: Tap on a community to see its description, topics, and member count
4. Tap "Join": Hit the Join button on the community page
5. Location consent (optional): You may be asked to share your location — this helps filter alerts to your area
6. Select topics: Choose which alert topics interest you (e.g., lost items, missing pets, medical alerts)

After Joining

Once you have joined, you will see the community on your My Communities page. You will start receiving alerts based on your topic preferences. You can leave or change your subscription settings at any time.
