Create Your Own Trail

With itemID's Trail Builder, you can connect multiple places into a trail and share it with others. Here's how:

Step by Step

  1. Start a trail: Tap the "+" button and select "Trail" from the type picker
  2. Name and description: Give your trail a descriptive name and a short description
  3. Add stops: Search for existing places or create new personal places as stops
  4. Set the order: Arrange stops in your preferred order via drag and drop
  5. Choose check-in methods: Set how visitors can check in at each stop (GPS, QR code, or manual)
  6. Set visibility: Choose between private, unlisted, or public
  7. Save: Your trail gets its own page and QR code automatically

How Many Stops Can a Trail Have?

A trail must have at least 2 stops. The maximum depends on your tier — the free tier allows up to 10 stops per trail.

Can I Edit My Trail Later?

Yes, you can add, remove, or reorder stops at any time. Go to your trail and click "Edit."

Tips

  • Add a description that explains what visitors can expect
  • Choose GPS check-in for outdoor trails and QR code for indoor locations
  • Test the trail yourself before making it public
