Trail Progress and Completion

How trail progress is calculated and what happens upon completion.

Progress on trails

itemID tracks your progress on each trail and shows you the percentage of waypoints you've visited.

Progress calculation

Progress is calculated as a percentage:

Progress = (visited waypoints / total waypoints) Γ— 100

Each visited waypoint is weighted equally, regardless of the distance between waypoints.

Progress display

Progress is shown in several places:

  • On the trail detail page as a progress bar
  • On the My IDs page in the trail card
  • On the dashboard under the Explorer card

Pause and resume

You can take a break from a trail and return later β€” your progress is saved indefinitely. When you resume, you continue from where you left off.

Trail completion

When you've visited all waypoints on a trail (100%), the trail is considered complete. You receive:

  • A completion notification
  • The corresponding trail badge
  • An entry in your exploration history

Revisiting a trail

Completed trails remain on your My IDs page and can be revisited, but progress is not reset.
