GPS Location Check-In

Geolocation check-in uses your device's GPS to confirm that you are actually at the location. This is the most accurate check-in method on itemID.

How It Works

  1. Grant location access: Your browser asks for location permission — allow access
  2. GPS check: itemID compares your position with the location of the place
  3. Range: If you are within about 100 meters, the check-in is confirmed
  4. Confirmation: You receive confirmation and earn points or trail progress

Troubleshooting

  • Location not found: Make sure location permission is enabled in your browser settings
  • Inaccurate location: GPS works better outdoors than inside buildings. Try going outside
  • Too far away: Move closer to the location and try again

Privacy

Your location is only used at the moment of check-in and is not stored permanently. itemID does not have access to your location data outside the check-in process.
