Structured Content Chips

When creating a community alert, you can add structured content chips — small, standardised tags that describe key details about the lost item or pet. These chips make alerts clearer at a glance and improve searchability within the community.

Types of Chips

  • Circumstance chips: Describe how the item was lost — e.g. "Dropped", "Left behind", "Stolen"
  • Trait chips: Describe physical characteristics — e.g. "Blue", "Small", "Leather"
  • Distinguishing chips: Highlight unique features — e.g. "Scratched", "Has sticker", "Engraved"

How to Use Them

  1. When creating an alert, you'll see chip selections below the description field
  2. Tap or click relevant chips to add them to your alert
  3. Chips appear as coloured badges on the published alert

Why Use Chips?

  • Community members can quickly scan alert details without reading long descriptions
  • Chips are standardised, making it easier to match found items to alerts
  • They help community members report more accurate sightings
