How to customize, download, and print QR code labels.

Creating Your Labels

itemID provides a powerful label designer that lets you create custom QR code labels for your items. From any item's detail page, click the "Create Label" button to open the label designer. You'll find a variety of templates designed for different use cases β€” from simple sticker labels to luggage tags and pet collar tags.

Each template is optimized for specific printing formats and materials, ensuring your labels look professional and are easy to scan.

Customization Options

The label designer gives you control over several aspects of your label:

  • Template: Choose from various designs and layouts
  • Colors: Pick colors that match your style or item
  • Text: Add your item name, a return message, or custom text
  • Icon: Select an icon that represents your item type

The live preview updates in real-time as you make changes, so you always see exactly how your label will look before printing.

Download and Print

Once you're happy with your design, download the label as a high-resolution PDF optimized for printing. For best results, use a laser printer with weatherproof sticker paper. The QR codes are generated at high resolution to ensure reliable scanning even at small sizes.

Printing Tips

For long-lasting labels, we recommend printing on waterproof adhesive paper or vinyl sticker sheets. Most office supply stores carry suitable materials. Print at the highest quality setting your printer supports, and avoid scaling the PDF β€” print at 100% size to maintain optimal QR code scannability.

If you prefer not to print at home, check out our shop for professionally pre-printed labels that are weatherproof and UV-resistant.
