Label Printing & Quality Issues
Solutions for common problems when printing and applying QR code labels.
QR Code Prints Blurry
If your QR code label looks blurry or pixelated, check these settings:
- Set your printer quality to "High" or "Best Quality".
- Use the original size β don't shrink the label below 2 Γ 2 cm.
- Print on white paper or stickers (avoid colored paper).
- Check that your ink cartridges have enough ink.
Printed Label Won't Scan
If the printed label won't scan:
- Make sure there's enough white space (quiet zone) around the QR code.
- Avoid laminating the label β reflections can interfere with scanning.
- Test the scan with different smartphones and QR code apps.
- Reprint the label at a higher resolution.
Printer Compatibility
itemID labels are optimized for standard inkjet and laser printers. Quality may vary with thermal printers β use a standard printer when possible.
Label Won't Stick or Falls Off
To ensure your label sticks permanently:
- Clean the surface with a dry cloth before applying.
- Avoid curved or heavily textured surfaces.
- Press the label firmly and let it dry for 24 hours.
- For outdoor use, we recommend our pre-printed labels from the shop β they're weather and UV resistant.
Order Pre-Printed Labels
For optimal quality and durability, we recommend our pre-printed labels from the itemID shop. These are professionally printed, waterproof, scratch-resistant, and designed for long-term use.
