How to create personal places — name, location, image, and visibility.

Creating a personal place

Personal places allow you to create your own geographic points in itemID and optionally add QR codes to them.

Creation process

  1. Open the type picker dialog via the "+" icon
  2. Select "Place" from the "Explore & Manage" group
  3. Enter a name and optional description
  4. Set the location on the map or enter coordinates
  5. Optionally upload a photo
  6. Choose the desired visibility
  7. Save the place

Setting location

The location can be set in two ways:

  • Map: Click or tap the desired position on the map
  • Current position: Use the "My Location" button to use your current GPS location

Visibility

  • Private: Only you can see the place (default)
  • Public: The place appears in search and on the map for all users

QR code

After creation, a QR code is automatically generated. You can print it and physically place it at the location so other users can check in by scanning.
