Everything about points of interest — types, details, check-in methods, and the hidden gems system.

Overview

Points of interest are the curated building blocks of city exploration. Each one represents a physical location connected to a digital experience.

Types of Places

  • Public places: Visible to all users, appear on the city map
  • Hidden places: Must be discovered through clues or exploration
  • Organization places: Managed by local businesses or organizations

Place Detail Page

Each place has a detail page with description, images, map location, and check-in button. Places managed by organizations may also include visiting information like opening hours, fees, and duration.

Hidden Gems

Some places are marked as hidden — they don’t appear on the map or in listings. The only way to discover them is by scanning the physical QR code at the location. Finding a hidden gem triggers a special reveal animation and unlocks a dedicated achievement.

Check-in

Check in at a place by scanning the QR code on-site or using GPS proximity. Your visit is recorded once per place — revisiting updates the timestamp but doesn’t create a duplicate entry.
